A founding partner of Healthcare Performance Solutions, Brian is a board certified, family physician with a 27 year career in the healthcare industry, which includes experiences as: a practicing physician, a hospice medical director, a medical group administrator, a managed care executive, a health system board member, a consultant in healthcare strategy/operations, an experienced facilitator in conflict resolution/consensus building and an expert in leadership development and executive coaching.  He is the firm’s practice leader in the area of physician engagement and physician leadership development.

Brian is, first and foremost, a physician, with a unique ability to be fluent in four different languages: medicine, healthcare, business and leadership.  He takes advantage of this capability to facilitate group conversations and in the process, identify common ground, resolve conflicts, and promote a durable, working consensus among diverse healthcare leadership constituents to transform the cultures of organizations and the health status of communities.  Along the way, physicians become more engaged and aligned in the strategic direction of healthcare organizations and willingly choose to participate and assume leadership roles in shaping the culture and behavioral expectations of their respective medical communities.

• Ten years of clinical practice experience in family medicine
  Medical Director of a group of 8 family physicians
  Chairman of Medical QA for a 370 bed community hospital
• Medical Director for Hospice of Seattle
• Medical Director of a statewide, provider owned, health plan
• Medical Director of a clinic network of 50 primary care physicians in 10 satellite locations
• Board Member for the Sisters of Providence Health System based in Seattle, WA
• Partner and National Director of Healthcare Strategy for a global consulting firm
• President of his own consulting firm specializing in healthcare strategy, physician engagement, organizational transformation and cultures of service excellence 

Brian received his Bachelors degree from the University of California, Davis, his Masters degree in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley and his medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco.  He completed his residency training at Providence Medical Center in Seattle, WA.  He resides in Seattle, with his wife, Cindy, and their two sons, Evan and Will.  In addition, his brother, Tony Award-winning actor B.D. Wong can be seen regularly as Dr. George Hwang on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit on NBC/TNT.  Despite his brother’s accomplishments and fame, Brian insists he is the better looking and more talented brother.
